A Place I Want To Visit

Hello !

This time I'm going to tell you about a place I want to visit. This place is called Dreamworld. It is a theme park situated on Gold Coast in Queensland. It is Australia's largest theme park with over 40 rides and attractions.

A little bit history about this place, in 1974, John Longhurst, the father of the future Australian water-ski champion and two time Bathurst 1000 winner Tony Longhurst, put his dream of building a theme park into practice and purchased 85 hectares (210 acres) of land beside the Pacific Motorway in Coomera. Longhurst spent two years, working 12-hour days, to excavate what is now known as the Murrissipi River. No expense was spared when Longhurst employed some designers who worked on Disneyland and Walt Disney World to design the park. It was up to a collection of Australian architects to mimic Australian pioneer buildings during construction. The theme park was officially opened on 15 December 1981 by the Premier of Queensland of the time, Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen.

On june in 2015, I went to Australia with a few of my friends. Our last place to visit before we went back to Indonesia was Dreamworld. It's quite happy and sad at that very moment because we have to say goodbye to our foster families, on the other hand we can't help but get excited to finally set our foot on Dreamworld.

Dreamworld is made up of several themed lands: Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience, Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, Rocky Hollow, Tiger Island and the Dreamworld Corroboree. These lands have a collection of rides, animal exhibits, shows, food outlets and merchandise shops.

The first ride you'll see near the entrance is The Claw. Basically it's a giant outdoor swing that goes 75 km/h and swing at 120 degrees. Right in front of it is Wipeout, it is a vekoma wakiki wave super flip, it is 15 m high and it flips you around upside down. The third ride is Shockwave, it is a ride that resembles how wave works, the ride goes 54 km/h.

The next one is one of my favorite ride, it is called Tower of Terror II, basically it is a steel shuttle roller coaster that's 115 m tall and it goes 160.9 km/h. The unique thing about this ride, not only the speed of it but, the ride is situated on the Dreamworld Tower which also houses the Giant Drop free fall ride.

Situated on the same Dreamworld Tower is The Giant Drop, it is a drop tower ride. On this ride 16 riders will rise to the top of the tower which is 119 m tall and will be drop at 115 m tall with the speed of 135 km/h. it is known for the tallest drop tower ride in the world.

The last but not least is Thunder River Rapids Ride, it is a river rapid water ride, it has the same concept of arung jeram in Indonesia. The length of this ride is 410 m and the speed is about 45 km/h.

And that is some of my favorite rides from Dreamworld. I hope I can visit it once more with my friends. And that is all for today's blogpost. Thanks.
